 - birth name is Leonard Gary Oldman also known as Gaz
 - English screen and stage actor, filmmaker and musician
- he is best-known for playing over the top antagonists and heroic roles in Harry Potter and Dark Knight.
- Won a scholarship to Britain's Rose Bruford Drama College where he received his BA in theatre arts in 1979. He appeared in numbers of plays throughout the early 80s.
- "The Popes Wedding" receiving an award for Best Newcomer of 1985-1986
- Remembrance (1982)
 - most memorable early role came when he sang Sex Pistol Sid Vicious in Sid and Nancy (1986)
- received a best actor nomination for Joe Orton in Prick Up Your Ears (1987)
- played Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004) which he continued his role in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire(2005) and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007)
- he also played a Detective James Gordon in Batman Begins(2005)and also played again in The Dark Knight(2008) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
- has three children, one with his first wife Lesley Manville and two with third wife Donya Fioentino. He is currently married to Alexandra Edenborough.
- his ability to transform himself physically and command of accents have allowed him to play a broad range of characters and a number of historical figures including Lee Harvey Oswalk in JFK (1991) and Ludwig van Beethoven in Immortal Beloved (1994)
