OVERALL LOOK The overall look in this film was for us as the viewers to live in the life of the maim characters physical state of being paralyzed. The way the camera movement and angel was, was as if we the viewers were the ones paralyzed. The vocie over of his voice displayed was not him actually speaking but what he was thinking. There was even a part in the movie where he was yelling trying to speak and no one could here him up us. IMAGE The images that conveyed information that wasnt from the dialogue or the actions of the main character I believe was the scene when he was underwater in a whole body suit with this thing over his head. He was kind of portraying this image of being trapped im his own body. Not being able to have a voice for himself no matter how loud he might try to scream. Another image being portrayed is when he sits by himself out in the ocean on a dock showing he is surrounded by loneliness. SHOT LENGTHS There was alot of rapid lengths of shots and close up shots used. The shots were to try and see everything through the main characters eyes. When he would try and focus on certain things to understand exactly what was going on. The only way he could communicate was through his eyes. SHOT TYPES The shot types shown in this film was alot of close up, extreme close up, extreme long shots to see all the character cant and we can. To show hes living in a world that he cant even get to experience anymore. CAMERA ANGLES The main camera angle throughout this whole movie was POV. We as the audience watching the movie was looking through the eyes of the main character. There were many of times when there were flash backs or the angle would change to show the character. There were many low angle shots to get the distinct feel that he the main character was paralized and certain positions he was put in he couldn't see anything. COMPOSITION In the film there was alot of extreme close up of the people he was observing. To the close up of the womens lips, eyes, and close ups of their face. There was alot of long shots when it came to the scenery outside to show serenity and the only sense of beauty and freedom he had to escape the realities of his world, Him being a vegetable. There was some scenes of cutaway when he was at the beach with his family and he was watching his kids and ex wife dance and play and attempt to show him some love by being around him and singing. CINEMATOGRAPHY STYLES The cinematography in the film draws attention and shows the emotional stressful and agonizing time the character is going through throughout the film. It includes different camera angles, frames, lights, ane shot angles and lengths.
